Shaheen Thaha is a man of few words as the eloquent images he captures through the camera lens convey a lot more than the proverbial thousand words. He is equally at ease bringing to life images of various genres - whether it is the side profile of a visibly pensive Mohanlal against the Goan beach (from the Malayalam blockbuster movie Sagar Alias Jackie), the opulence of a luxury resort nestled beside the Arabian sea, or exquisite jewelry shot against the backdrop of natural elements.
Shaheen's unique perspective, vivid imagination and attention-to-detail can be partially put down to lineage - his father, Taha, is a leading photographer in south India with a career spanning over 30 years. Even as a young boy, he was in awe of the world of photography and longed to turn professional. Technical knowledge was acquired and skills honed over the next few years; initially at the Wigan & Leigh College (Bangalore), through a 3 year degree course in Advertising and Designing and later, at the Light & Life Academy (Ooty) - run by the renowned duo of Iqbal K Mohammed and Anuradha Iqbal - where he completed a one year professional course in Digital Photography.
